Chemistry and Cell Biology of Lipid Metabolism - Christoph Thiele
The Thiele group has a long-standing interest in lipids as biomolecules. The biochemistry, cell biology, physiology and immunological aspects of lipids are at the heart of the group’s research program. The topics under study include the regulation of lipid anabolism and catabolism at all complexity levels ranging from the subcellular to organismal level. To facilitate these studies, the Thiele group has pioneered various new techniques tackling several methodological shortcomings of the past. The solutions that have been provided include superior lipid tracers and detection routines enabling reliable, sensitive, and multi-modal tracing of lipids by state-of-the-art methods in lipid analytics.
